The Big Backpack Build is Storehouse's largest annual event — a community-wide kitting experience that puts fully stocked, brand-new backpacks into the hands of West Michigan students who need them most. Every qualifying child receives exactly one. Equal and equitable. No child left out.
The event brings together volunteers of all kinds — individuals, student groups, corporate teams, and community organizations — to build backpacks side by side at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. It's two days of real work, real impact, and a shared experience that sticks with everyone who participates.
Expanding the reach of the Big Backpack Build requires funder support. Every sponsorship level directly funds more backpacks — and gives your team the opportunity to build them in person.
† Backpacks are distributed through KSSN and directly to partner schools. Individual students access backpacks through those channels only — not directly through Storehouse.

—STOREHOUSE ON THE GO
Taking supplies to schools that
can't come to us.
Storehouse on the Go is a mobile pop-up event that travels to high-need schools outside Kent County — bringing classroom supplies directly to teachers who would otherwise go without. Corporate sponsors fund the visit; there is no cost to the school.
Sponsorships typically range from $2,000 to $5,000 depending on the number of schools served. Corporate teams can volunteer at the event and add branding as part of their sponsorship package.

The Kit Building Experience is a sponsored, hands-on event where your team packages hygiene kits, holiday bags, and care packages for families across Michigan. You select the kit type, the number of kits, and the recipient organization.
Corporate teams interested in being among the first can start a conversation with Kim about options and timing.
