—POWERING HOUSING

More units. More families. More impact with the same budget.

Michigan needs more affordable housing. The organizations building it need materials they can actually afford. Storehouse gives affordable housing nonprofits access to brand new building materials at less than 30% of retail — so every dollar saved on materials is a dollar that builds another home.

—PROOF IT WORKS

Family Promise

Family Promise is a housing nonprofit doing the hard work of moving families from crisis to stability. When they connected with Storehouse's building materials program, something significant happened — quickly.

In just two months, Family Promise saved $50,000 in building materials by accessing brand new supplies through Storehouse at less than 30% of retail cost.

That $50,000 didn't disappear into overhead. It went directly back into their programs — into the work of housing more families, stabilizing more households, and extending the reach of what their budget could accomplish.

That's not a grant story. That's a multiplier story. Every dollar saved on materials is a dollar that serves a family.

—HOW YOUR FUNDING WORKS

Two ways Storehouse
powers affordable housing

Storehouse supports affordable housing nonprofits across two areas — building materials for the organizations constructing and maintaining homes, and household goods for the families moving into them. Your investment can support one or both.

Primary focus

Building Materials

Organizations working on affordable housing construction and repair access brand new building materials through Storehouse at less than 30% of retail cost. Think water heaters, furnaces, vanities, bathtubs, faucets, sinks, toilets, showers, lighting — the materials that make a house livable, available at a fraction of what they would cost anywhere else.

Building Materials

What funding enables: Every dollar invested in Storehouse's housing program extends the purchasing power of every housing nonprofit in the network. When materials cost less, more homes get built. When more homes get built, more families get housed.

Current inventory: Close to $1 million in brand new building materials — available now to qualifying organizations

Affordable Housing

Secondary Focus - Warehouse Membership

Household Goods for Families

A house becomes a home when a family has what they need inside it. Storehouse warehouse membership gives housing nonprofits access to brand new household goods — furniture, bedding, personal care, clothing, and more — at approximately 4% of retail cost.

When a family moves into transitional or affordable housing, the organizations supporting them can access the goods that make that transition real — without stretching their program budget past its limit.

What funding enables: Operational support that keeps the warehouse stocked and the network growing — so every housing nonprofit has access to what their clients need, not just what they can afford.
