—Volunteer
The work is real. The impact is visible. The people make it worth it.
Volunteering at Storehouse is hands on, visible, and directly connected to the organizations and schools we serve. Every shift moves real goods to real people. No abstract giving. No passive participation. Just meaningful work — with people who make it worth showing up for.

"Great people. Meaningful work. And somehow — genuinely fun. You'll come for the mission. You'll come back for the people."

—Biggest Volunteer Moment of the year
15,000 backpacks
One August morning.
Every volunteer matters.
Every August, Storehouse hosts the Big Backpack Build — a community-wide event that puts fully stocked, brand-new backpacks into the hands of students who need them most across Kent County. It's the largest single volunteer event Storehouse runs, and it's the moment the whole model comes together in one room.
Volunteers of all kinds come together — individuals, student groups, corporate teams, and community organizations — to build backpacks side by side. Every qualifying child receives exactly one. Equal and equitable. No child left out.
