—POWERING EDUCATION
A teacher's job is to teach. Not to buy their own classroom supplies.
A funder's investment in Storehouse makes sure teachers never have to. Every dollar invested in our education programs returns 24 dollars in classroom supplies, books, and resources that flow directly to Michigan schools — at no cost to the teacher.
Storehouse's education programs are the most established work we do — built over more than a decade, serving schools across Michigan with consistent, documented impact. This is not a pilot. This is infrastructure that works.
In one year, we grew from serving 50 low income schools to 65 — a 30% increase. Member organizations grew from 250 to 675+ in a single year. The model compounds because every new partner multiplies the impact of every other.

—WHAT WE MEAN BY EDUCATION
We power all four layers of the education ecosystem.
When we say we power education, we mean all four layers of it — students, teachers, classrooms, and schools. And for students in low income communities, being ready to learn means more than having the right notebook. It means a coat for the walk to school, shoes that fit, and the personal care basics that let a child walk in with dignity. Storehouse delivers all of it — through programs that reach every layer of the education ecosystem.

Your funding powers all of it.

one — or all four through a designated fund.

Program 01- FULLY OPERATIONAL
Teacher Resource Store
A dedicated retail style space at our Grand Rapids warehouse, stocked with classroom essentials. Teachers at qualifying high need schools shop twice per year — completely free of charge. They walk in, fill a cart, and leave with everything their classroom needs. No invoice. No reimbursement forms. No cost.
What funding enables: It costs Storehouse $50 to give one teacher a free shopping visit. That $50 covers their access to a full cart of supplies — an average retail value of $400 — at absolutely no cost to the teacher. Currently each qualifying teacher shops twice per year, but the vision is monthly access. Funder investment is what makes that expansion possible. In 2025, $60,000 invested delivered $1.43M in supplies to 1,300 classrooms.
To the teacher: Free — always.
Storehouse cost per visit: $50 · Supplies received: ~$400 in retail value

Program 02- ACTIVE YEAR ROUND
All Teacher Access
The Teacher Resource Store often has excess supplies beyond what qualifying schools need. All Teacher Access is how those supplies reach even more classrooms — opening remaining inventory to teachers at any Michigan school, regardless of qualification. Teachers browse available goods through a dedicated WhatsApp channel, claim what they need, and arrange a scheduled pickup. Nothing sits unused.
What funding enables: Operational support that keeps surplus moving and the channel active — so every available item reaches a teacher who needs it.
Join the channel: Our inventory varies daily, educators can view WhatsApp, for all teacher access.

Program 03- EXPANDING
Storehouse on the Go
Our mobile pop up — a transit van and 24-foot trailer — travels to communities across Michigan to bring free supplies directly to teachers at high need schools outside Kent County. Visits are fully funded by community sponsors. There is no cost to the school.
What funding enables: A $1,000 base covers vehicle costs to get the trailer moving. Beyond that, each teacher served costs $50. A single visit can serve an entire school district in one day.
Base cost to launch a visit: $1,000 + $50 per teacher

Program 04- ANNUAL • AUGUST
Big Backpack Build
Every August, Storehouse hosts the Big Backpack Build — putting 15,000 brand new backpacks into the hands of West Michigan students who need them most. Every qualifying child receives exactly one. Equal and equitable — no child left out.
What funding enables: Sponsorship levels from $2,500 to $50,000 — each directly tied to the number of students impacted. Sponsors can also bring their own teams to build backpacks on event day.
Sponsorship range: $2,500 to $50,000

"The Storehouse Teacher Resource Store (TRS) has fully supplied my first year classroom. My kids light up when I bring in new books, notebooks, and décor. One student who struggles with reading loves our read alouds and now uses an audio system from the Teacher Store — she proudly points out words she's learned."

—NAMING & SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Put your name on the work you fund.
Storehouse is opening naming and sponsorship opportunities across our education programs — giving funders the chance to connect their brand and mission directly to the work they make possible.
Whether you're a foundation building community legacy or a company investing in the neighborhoods where your employees live and work, a named partnership with Storehouse puts your commitment on display — every time a teacher shops, every time a trailer rolls, every time a child opens a backpack. These opportunities are structured to align with your giving goals — annual, multi year, or per event.
Teacher Resource Store-Naming Rights
The TRS serves 1,300 teachers across 65 high need schools in Kent County. A named sponsorship puts your organization's investment at the center of that work — seen by every teacher who walks through the door.
